Delicious, Saucy, and Easy Pulled Pork

My father-in-law cooked up one of our pork shoulder roasts last week Saturday for pulled pork on a bun. It was absolutely mouth watering!

I wish I took a picture, but between feeding the kids and devouring the saucy meaty goodness on my plate, a picture didn't stand a chance :)

I just had to share this with you – it’s such a deliciously easy meal!

  1. Season your pork shoulder roast however you like. Add some sliced onions, or even just a bit of salt and pepper.

  2. Sear your roast on all sides in a hot skillet. Throw it into a roasting pan with a bit of chicken broth.

  3. Cover and cook low & slow for 8-10 hours, until the internal temperature is 205F or until it shreds easily with a fork.

  4. Mix some mayonnaise and BBQ sauce of your choice with the pulled pork.

  5. Serve on a kaiser bun with toppings of your choosing (mayo, pickles, coleslaw, the possibilities are endless!).

And you know what the best part was? I felt great after eating it. No sore stomach that I’d normally get with grocery store pork.

We have 4 lb roasts at our farm store that are perfect for making pulled pork.

Not serving a crowd? That’s ok! Serve it a couple days later on a baked potato, or in a taco shell, yum yum! Or, freeze it and pull it out another day when you’re in a crunch.

Happy eating!
